Career Coaching

I help you succeed in your cross-cultural and mid-career transitions.

I help international professionals build networks and thrive in new work cultures.

As a career coach and training facilitator, I help job seekers navigate career paths and achieve their professional goals. I provide guidance on career planning, job search strategies, CV and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and networking. I work with a diverse range of clients including students, career changers, and new migrants to articulate their strengths and unique value proposition.

I am a Certified Career Services Provider™ credentialled by the National Career Development Association and a Professional Member of the Career Development Association of New Zealand. I am committed to ongoing professional development and the NCDA and CDANZ Code of Ethics. Which means I’m committed to providing you the career support you need to the best of my abilities.

I work with international professionals – those whose work in cultural settings different to their own, immigrant professionals, and international students. I also work with individuals with similar professional backgrounds and aspirations related to higher education and cross-cultural understanding.

My YouTube Channel has videos about job search strategies, PhD to Professional interviews and other career related topics.

Career coaching creates a confidential space where you can explore your professional challenges and aspirations. Rather than providing direct advice, I facilitate meaningful conversations that enable you to discover your own insights and solutions. This process honours your unique experience and expertise while helping you gain clarity on your path forward.

I use a strengths-based approach in my coaching and use the VIA survey of character strengths to help clients understand their unique ranked list of strengths and how they can apply them to their work, relationships and any challenges they are facing.

Coaching is also goal-oriented. I help clients to make sense of the demands and implications of their current reality with a view to their desired future through evidence-based exercises and decision-making frameworks.

I’m passionate about helping people equip themselves with knowledge and skills to lead more productive and meaningful lives. I have supported hundreds of job seekers, particularly immigrants, understand their skills and values and finding success in their career journey. I am also well-versed in the tertiary education, careers and workforce systems in New Zealand having worked across government agencies.

I have over 10 years’ experience in facilitation, coaching and developing workshops in Singapore and New Zealand. I design and facilitate interactive workshops, provide 1:1 coaching, and regularly speak at forums related to career development.

I have a Master of Arts in TESOL from the University of Southern California and a PhD in Education from the University of Waikato. My PhD research focused on understanding how new international learners proactively sought academic help from culturally and linguistically similar peers. Any form of learning or training needs to consider the social and cultural backgrounds of learners and how they view relationships with those imparting knowledge and skills.

My areas of training expertise include:

  • Job search strategies and CV writing
  • Networking and presentation skills
  • Cross-cultural communications
  • Character Strengths workshops
  • Strengths-based coaching
